Join an enthusiastic team of volunteers working to make a real difference to the lives of people with Parkinson’s and their families in Edinburgh and Midlothian by providing friendship, information, activities and general support to those concerned.
If you are interested in a volunteering role, we can offer a variety of flexible volunteer experiences as we continue to develop our support to the Parkinson’s community. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, everyone has something to offer and we always try to identify a specific role or area of responsibility for new volunteers.
Spotlight Vacancy
We are particularly keen to find someone to take on the role of Fundraiser. To date our Fundraiser organised can collections three times a year, and one or two social events. We would be more than happy for the new person/people to do a similar amount. If you would be interested, please in the first instance contact Stephen Brannan: chair@edinburghparkinsons.org
Why volunteer?
Research has shown that volunteering can be good for you! It provides the opportunity to make a positive contribution to your community while meeting people and making new friends. You may have existing skills you can put to good use or you may want to challenge yourself and discover hidden talents.
Here’s what some of our volunteers have to say.
For new volunteers, induction training and ongoing support is provided by our Parkinson’s UK Volunteer Co-ordinator as well as the Branch Chair and Committee Members
To ask about becoming one of our volunteers or for more information, please contact: Stephen Brannan, Chair via chair@edinburghparkinsons.org, 0131 557 5979. He would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in volunteering in a wider capacity have a look at the Parkinson’s UK website.
